Weekly Challenge: Week 31 reliquary

sterling silver, ribbon, my old soap dish circa 1970's

In keeping with the little girl theme, I wondered what could possibly be better than kittens? The answer...nothing! But jewelry and presents would definitely be in the top five.

Now all I need is a tea party to wear these to. (not THAT tea party)

where's my niece Georgie when you need her?

Weekly Challenge: Week 31 relic

soap dish circa 1970's

I grew up with this super cute dish. I've had it since I was little and I've taken it with me wherever I moved. Over 30 years...until one of our cats spazzed out and broke it. The little bastards!
But I just couldn't throw it away. I've saved the broken pieces for about three years now. I guess I saved it for a reason after all.

Weekly Challenge: Week 29 reliquary

14kp scrap, tie tack, sterling silver little guy (circa 1989?)

I decided to stay with the scrap "theme" and file a scrap of pink gold into a heart. I kept looking at this piece and the hole I had originally drilled went right through the heart of this dude. (cue THIS...aaaannd you're welcome! I've had it stuck in my head since I pulled this piece out of the scrap bin!)
I kept the figure as is by not filing it all nice and pretty. I oxidized it and then polished the heart.
