Check out my booty!

all boxed up and ready for delivery...

sneak peek! these rings are kind of an experiment for something I'm working on. I arranged some dried dahlia petals (from my garden) underneath these acrylic cabs. I think they came out pretty cool. I apologize for the not so great photo. They really do look better in person...

ThinkSmall5 opening this week

I created a piece for the biennial installment of ThinkSmall5. The show opens officially on Friday November 6, 2009 at Art6 & Artspace Galleries here in Richmond, VA. There is a special preview party on Thursday (tickets can be purchased from Artspace).
There will be lots of small works by some great artists. This event is a fundraiser for both galleries so artworks are priced under $400 to sell and raise some funds.

Here's a sneak peek at my piece.

Hope to see you there!

Email issues

My "superpower" sucks. I have an uncanny knack for crashing all technological devices just by being around them. Seriously.

My email is acting up! I have no idea what happened but I'm working to figure it out and fix it.
In the meantime, please use my alternate email:

If you've recently tried to email me PLEASE RESEND to the above email address!

Thank you for your patience

Any takers?

I think my clients are pretty great. I'd love to be able to thank them (you) for their support in a meaningful way.

I've been toying with this idea for a while now and would love some feedback.

I really don't know what I'd call it: the birthday club? birthday club discount? I don't know...

Here's how it would work:
Once you'd purchased an item of jewelry you'd be eligible to join. All I'd need is your name, email or snail mail address and birthday. Then, once a year, you'd receive a birthday coupon that you could redeem towards a purchase from my website during your birthday month.

Does this appeal to you? Is it too cheesy? What kind of discount would you join for?

I've created a piece for this year's Whodunnit? Exhibition. All artwork is signed on the back and will remain a mystery until sold (for a mere $50 each!)
The exhibition opens this Friday, June 5th at Ghostprint Gallery in Richmond, VA. Artworks can be viewed on Friday and during gallery hours on Saturday. Then on Sunday, they will be sold during the Broad Appetit event in downtown Richmond.

So come by and check it out!

Plays with dirt

the plan...

the booty...

the tool I found buried in the yard...anyone know what this is?

First house. First garden. I decided to start small with a flower garden in the front yard. The back yard shows me more and more each day. There are huge beds of beautiful purple flowers that just "appeared" like magic one day. Then I discovered that the back yard fence is covered with intoxicating honeysuckle! Maybe next year I'll start the vegetable garden.

Me, me, me, meee!

I took a week off in April to visit my family in CT. While there I stayed at Hotel TenEyck which has the best staff and accommodations around. wink, wink...
My sister Carla is truly one gifted photographer. Visit to see what I mean. We had planned on a photo shoot to get some shots for my site and finally got the chance on the last day of my visit. The weather was beautiful and so we headed out.
Well, we went driving around looking for a cool spot (the first location was a no go as the cherry trees had not blossomed yet) and came upon this GORGEOUS cemetery in Simsbury. and OF COURSE we had to stop. My kind of place, for sure.
My sister is funny as hell and is always "go, go, go!" and all up in my this was super fun! Click here to see our session...

ps- Carla, sorry I "broke" your camera!

Busy, busy

earrings: copper, sterling silver, garnet

I have a lot of things to post. Especially since I got back from visiting my family in April. I guess I'll start with jewelry. I have a bunch of "little things" that I've made recently. I have some rings and earrings that I've made with sterling silver, copper, bronze and garnets. I'm loving mixed metals lately. I also made some sweet little earrings in sterling with pops of colorful green and purple cz's and more garnets. I've been photographing them the past few days and still need to edit them. I will be posting these items in my Etsy shop so I'll let you know as soon as that happens.
Here's a peek...

Happy Mothers Day

It's that day again. This will mark the 4th Mothers Day to pass since Mom died in 2006. Sometimes I wish this whole weekend would disappear from the calendar.
I was in CT recently visiting my family. My sister, my niece and I went to Mom's cemetery to visit (and to finally get the info together for a headstone). My niece Georgie is named after Mom. While walking in the cemetery visiting Mayor Mike's grave, sweet little Georgie decided to collect some flowers for Mom's grave. She picked up some fallen magnolia petals and then discovered a dropped iris on the ground. She then carefully arranged them on Mom's grave.
Today I am planting some roses in her honor.

Happy Mothers Day, Mom. Wherever you are...

I'll admit it. I got sidetracked and didn't post new stuff on Etsy like I promised. Well, I've got all my photos edited and the next step is to upload and add all the info. I'll have new jewelry in my etsy shop by this Sunday! Here's a sneak peek...
